Global Privacy Policy

How the ronarn network handles privacy, analytics and affiliate links.

PrivacyPolicy.bio is the central privacy statement for ronarn-operated health education hubs (such as Retinol.bio, Hyaluronic.bio, Acne.bio) and comparison sites (such as Genectics.com, Retynol.com and AcneHeals.com). Individual sites may have short, local policy pages – this page explains the overarching approach.

  • Which sites this policy covers and what kind of data they collect.
  • How we use cookies, analytics and affiliate tracking links.
  • Your choices and rights, especially if you are in the EU/EEA.

This page is an informational overview, not legal advice. It does not replace any mandatory notices required by law in your country.

1. Scope – Which Sites This Policy Covers

This global privacy policy applies to websites and web projects operated by ronarn AS that link to PrivacyPolicy.bio as their “Global Privacy Policy”. This typically includes:

  • Educational .bio hubs such as Retinol.bio, Hyaluronic.bio, Acne.bio and Niacinamide.bio.
  • Product comparison sites such as Genectics.com, Retynol.com, AcneHeals.com and related domains.
  • Supporting domains in the same network that redirect to or frame those projects.

Some sites may also have their own local on-site privacy pages (for example /privacy.html) to explain specifics for that domain. When there is a difference between a local notice and this global policy, the more specific notice for that site usually applies.

This policy does not cover websites that are not operated by ronarn AS, even if we link to them or recommend their products (for example retailers, affiliate networks or external services).

2. What Data We Collect (and What We Don’t)

Most ronarn-operated sites are static, content-focused pages. We do not run log-in systems or social networks and we do not attempt to build detailed behavioural profiles of individual visitors.

Data we typically process

  • Technical logs from our hosting and security providers (IP address, browser type, date/time, basic device info).
  • Aggregated analytics data such as page views, referrers and time on page, usually via privacy-conscious settings in tools like Google Analytics 4.
  • Affiliate click information when you click on marked affiliate links to retailers (for example Amazon). These clicks are tracked by the affiliate network and/or retailer to attribute sales.
  • Voluntary contact details if you email us directly (for example your email address and the content of your message).

Data we typically do not collect

  • No account sign-ups, passwords or user profiles on the content sites.
  • No sensitive health records or medical files.
  • No direct payment details (card numbers, PayPal logins, etc.).
  • No invasive “session recordings” or keystroke trackers.

If a specific site or app collects more data than described here (for example an app with log-in), that site or app will have its own dedicated privacy notice in addition to this global policy.

3. Cookies, Analytics & Similar Technologies

Our goal is to understand how people use our content in aggregate without following individual visitors around the web.

3.1 Analytics

On many sites in the network we use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics 4) to measure traffic and improve content. Typical data points include:

  • Which pages are viewed and how often.
  • Approximate region (country/region, not precise address).
  • Device type (mobile/desktop/tablet) and browser type.

We configure analytics with privacy in mind (for example IP anonymisation where available) and use the data in aggregated form.

3.2 Cookies & local storage

Our content sites may set small cookies or use local storage for:

  • Basic analytics measurements.
  • Remembering simple preferences (like dark/light mode if supported by your browser).

You can usually control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect analytics quality but should not prevent you from reading our content.

3.3 Third-party scripts

When we embed third-party tools (for example YouTube videos, social widgets or affiliate banners), those third parties may set their own cookies or tracking. Their behaviour is governed by their own privacy policies, not ours.

4. Affiliate Links & Outbound Click Tracking

Many comparison sites in the ronarn network earn revenue through affiliate links. This means:

  • If you click an affiliate link to a retailer (for example Amazon) and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
  • Affiliate networks and retailers use cookies or similar identifiers to attribute the sale to us.
  • We do not see your full purchase history or payment details – only aggregated reports such as “X clicks, Y items sold”.

Affiliate links are usually marked with labels such as “affiliate”, “sponsored” or similar disclosures on the page. For a broader explanation of how we handle affiliate relationships, see Disclosure.bio.

External retailers and affiliate networks have their own privacy and cookie policies. We recommend reading those policies carefully before creating accounts or making purchases on their sites.

5. Legal Basis & Your Privacy Rights

ronarn AS is based in Norway, which is part of the EEA and subject to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights over your personal data, such as:

  • The right to access personal data we hold about you.
  • The right to request correction of inaccurate data.
  • The right to request deletion of certain data (“right to be forgotten”).
  • The right to object to certain types of processing (for example direct marketing).
  • The right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

In practice, we store very little directly identifiable data on our content sites. The most common case is when you choose to email us. If you want to exercise a privacy right related to our sites, you can contact us and we will do our best to help within applicable legal frameworks.

For detailed guidance on your rights, please refer to your local data protection authority (for example Datatilsynet in Norway or the relevant authority in your EU/EEA country).

6. Data Retention & Security

We keep data only for as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, or as long as required by law (for example basic business records).

  • Server logs are typically kept for a limited period for security, performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Analytics data may be retained in aggregated form to understand long-term trends in how our sites are used.
  • Email correspondence may be stored as long as needed to follow up on your request or maintain a record of important communication.

We use reputable hosting, security and analytics providers and take reasonable steps to protect data against unauthorised access. However, no system can be perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
